How To Know The Best Muscle Building Exercises For Your Body Parts

It is not easy to decide which exercise is the best for each person, simply because we are all built differently. There may be an exercise that works fine for one person, but do not give any good results to someone else.

For instance, the 'bent over barbell rows' is recommended by most people as the so called king of back exercises, however I cannot for the life of me feel it working my back. On the other hand, one arm dumbbell rows work great for me. Don't believe that any single specific exercise is a must for a particular body part.

Why Beginners May Need To Work With The Basic Lifts

I understand why trainers suggest the standard compound lifts for each body part. These lifts are key in providing the best "bang for the buck" and are the top exercises for functional strength. The problem is, however, at times it takes weeks to months for a beginner to feel anything with some exercises.

It Takes Some Time to Establish the Mind-To-Muscle Connection

The big compound exercises are important and should be used, but they are the exercises that take the longest to "feel". Over time you will develop a strong mind-to-muscle link and you will really be able to milk these exercises, but until that happens I recommend that you work a little more on exercises that you can really feel.

Give Priority to Exercises that Work for You

During the first four years of lifting weights, I performed seated behind the neck military presses. I heard this was the greatest exercise for getting wider shoulders. Honestly, I was terribly weak at these and they never at no time felt like they were working my shoulders.

My partner was working his way up to one hundred and eighty five pounds for five reps and I was stuck at one hundred for five reps for four years. After I figured that I was not getting any results from doing this lift I decided to do seated dumbbell military presses and stuck with them ever since. I also do some nautilus military presses and they work fine for me as well.

My Workout Partner Hated Barbell Curls

I love flat bar barbell curls however this dude did not feel them in his biceps. He liked concentration curls and Preacher Hammer Curls a lot more, but I get nothing out of these. Therefore, the point is that you need to choose exercises that work for you well. Do not believe you have to stick to what is generally recommended. If what is recommended doesn't work, you have do what works for you.

The Exercises That Don't Work For You Now May Improve Over Time

If you hate incline barbell presses now, do not think that it will always be this way. Over a period of time they may become your favorite. I used to dislike flat bench dumbbell flyes and preferred cable crossovers. I only felt dumbbell flyes working my shoulders and cable crossovers really seemed to really hit my chest muscles. It is not the same anymore. Flat bench dumbbell flyes is now working my chest very hard, so much so I have to avoid doing too much in this exercise.

What I Recommend

Spend most of your time on the exercises that feel great for you now and give them priority. If you do 3 exercises for a body part, make sure at least 2 of them are working the target muscle group. Do those 2 first, and then use one exercise that is suppose to be the best for that muscle group. Over time you will have a compilation of top exercises which will be unique to you.

One Big Mistake People Make When Exercising To Burn Fat That Prevents Them From Getting Lean

We all know that there are different ways to exercise that affects people's fat loss results differently. There are certain exercises that are much more effective at burning calories than others.

For instance, more intense training burns calories more quickly and burns more fat overall. Unlike long, slow cardio workouts, intense training keeps you burning fat even after your workout. If anyone do not pay attention to these variables when opting for an exercise plan they may not gain the fat loss results they want.

However, doing your exercise incorrectly is not really the biggest mistake you can make that will kill fat loss results. The biggest mistake is exercising to burn fat without modifying your diet to make sure that you are eating at a calorie deficit.

Many people have the idea that because they are already exercising they do not need to eat less calories to create a calorie deficit. This is a big mistake.

If you want to lose body fat to get a lean body, you need to create a calorie deficit with your diet and burn off additional calories with exercise. It is critical to make sure your body is in a calorie deficit even when losing calories with exercise.

Eat Bad And Exercise Hard To Make Up For It? Not the Right Idea

We cannot exercise away a junk diet. It can be said that a controlled diet is key for losing fat and exercise is used to help the process. Exercise is great for fat loss but if your diet is not dialed in it won't get you lean.

It's not uncommon to see people follow an exercise-only fat loss program in their efforts to get lean, and it's also not surprising that these are the people that never stop looking soft and chubby despite exercising hard everyday.

One cannot benefit from the fat burning effects of exercise if he or she continues to refill their body with excess calories.

Take note, your body will store all excess calories you feed to eat as fat. It's much easier and faster, unless you have a really fast metabolism, for your body to store excess calories when you consume them than lose calories when you exercise.

Exercising to burn fat is good, but make sure that you are also eating to create a calorie deficit if you want the fat to go away from your body.

Running Is More Effective To Burn Fat Than Walking

Nowadays it is believed the best way to reach a target heart rate and burn body fat steadily is to walk at a moderate pace on a treadmill. It’s common to see in just about every gym that you go to people moving slowly during their exercise session on the treadmill.

These are the same people that never seem to reduce enough body fat despite exercising this way year after year. Honestly, this isn't the most effective way to exercise to burn body fat.  You need to start running if you want to get very lean.

In Rocky 1, 3 and 4, Balboa (Sylvester Stallone) was running to burn fat and it worked wonders for him. Actually, his cardio workout was not confined to a gym. The guy ran up and down stairs, on the beach and through the snow. The point is he ran a lot to burn fat, not just walk.

Running Vs Walking To Burn Fat

Whenever one walks on a treadmill and meet a moderate heart rate, a large percentage of the calories that get burn is going to come from fat. If you run, a lower percentage of the calories you burn come from fat, but you will burn a higher amount of calories from the workout.

When you run, you will burn more total fat and more calories. You may burn a lower percentage of the calories from fat, but the total is still much higher than walking.

When You Run To Burn Fat You Will Continue To Burn Fat Even After the Workout Finishes.

Here is the trick. Walking does not boost your metabolism as much as running. When walking to burn fat you are  really only burning fat during the workout. On the other hand, running boosts your metabolism and turns your body into a fat burning machine - melting body fat away even while you are sleeping. The better you get at running, the leaner you will become.

Think about it, have you ever seen a track athlete that looks overweight? You can do a lot of walking, but you will be wasting too much time if you want to get a lean body fast? I observed a lot of folks that walk for near around a hour per day and never seem to improve the look of their body.

Try to get into the habit of running to burn fat instead of walking when your aim is to get lean quickly and you will see much better results.

If you want a great program that will guide you properly to burn body fat effectively with cardio, take a look at Visual Impact Cardio. This top program is guaranteed to make you get as lean as you want to be.

Before she became pregnant, Megan Fox focused her diet and workout routine on maintaining an ultra slim body. Even though the actress maintains a very slender figure she normally keep a bit of curve which is the look lots of women prefer to have instead of the extremely skinny body type. Megan once lost all her curves by going on a strict vegan diet which lead her to display a completely skinny frame. The star remained on the vegan diet for a few months then ditched it after losing too much weight. She said: "For a year and a half, until about four months ago, I followed a strict vegan diet based on raw fruits and vegetables, no bread, sugar and coffee. But I had lost too much weight". So below is Megan Fox's normal diet and workout routine for maintaining her captivating slim physique with a little curve, which hopefully she regains after making her baby.

Megan Fox Diet Plan

Fox's personal trainer Harley Pasternak revealed that the actress followed his 5 Factor diet, which makes Megan eat five small meals a day and includes the five dietary factors including healthy fats, lean protein, fibre and a non-sugar drink. Harley added 'If Megan needs to snack between meals then she has our 5-Factor crisps which keeps her satiated between meals.'

Megan Fox Workout Routine

Megan and Pasternak trained three times a week doing circuit training. Circuit training is short bursts of resistance exercise using moderate weights and frequent repetitions, followed quickly by another burst of exercise targeting a different muscle group. She got 25 minutes of exercise each day broken down into 5 sessions that last 5 minutes each. When it comes to maintaining her curves, Pasternak added: 'Megan wants her body to reflect who she is. She looks awesome. She’s natural, softly spoken and her personality shines through her fantastic shape. That's right, she does look great in pictures and movies. No denying that.
